    A Rally Car

In rallying especially in Group N category, the cars used are often modified road cars based on turbocharged, four wheel drive versions of standard small cars. Most notably are always the Subaru Impreza WRX and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, although a wide range of vehicles is homologated by the FIA for use in Group N rallying.

    Preparation

Rally car preparation is one of the most important aspects of rallying. When you decide to go into rallying you must have a direction of what you would like to do and achieve. Rallying can and does burn up a lot of money both directly and indirectly.

    Internals

Inside a rally car there is no fancy upholstery or elaborate trim - just painted metal, composite panels and two carbon fibre seats, moulded to fit the driver and co-driver perfectly. There's no room in the back - the tubes of the roll cage take up the rear passenger space and the floor is pretty crowded with items like fire extinguisher, tool kit and spare wheels.
